Workcamp Week
Its workcamp week...the annual tradition of junior highers from around the Eastern third of the US descending on Harrisburg to sleep on the floor of First Church of the Brethren and work in the community. Another Farewell
Our long-time Program Coordinator/Case Manager Christine Patrick has moved on after 13 years of service at BHA. Christine impacted the lives of countless women and children during her time with us, through her hard work and advocacy, her inspiring personal story of overcoming homelessness, and through the love and support she shared. One person summed up Chris when she said "when I was with Miss Chris, I felt like I was hanging out with Jesus." We wish Christine well, but obviously she will be greatly missed. A Night of Pampering
At our May Bagwashi Circle night, a group from Christian Life Assembly (CLA) church in Camp Hill took a creative approach to blessing our families. It was Mother's Day month, so the CLA group put together a night of pampering including:
- A delicious meal
- Manicures
- A hot foot bath
- A photographer who took individual family portraits of the women in the program and their children
Since it was our monthly Bagwashi Circle night, Bagwashi volunteers took part in the evening's activities and were able to have a relaxed social time with BHA families. Thank you CLA for blessing us in this way! Here are some highlights:
The evening started with a yummy meal

The manicure was a highlight of the evening
Steve Schwartz "soaked" in the evenings activities, while NiaMya was fascinated by it all
A good time was had by all
