Join us for the 9th Annual BHA Golf Tournament!

Image of Golf Tournament LogoTwo days of warmer weather have made us hungry for Spring. It can't come soon enough! And that means it's almost time for our annual Golf Tournament.

The tournament is being held at ParLine Golf Course in Elizabethtown on Friday, May 13. The entry fee is $75 per person ($300 for a team of four) for 18 holes of golf with cart, including men/women/team skill prizes, door prizes, silent auction, course refreshments, and a delicious catered full-course dinner.

For more details, to register to play, or to sponsor, download the tournament brochure (PDF 397k). For questions, to have a brochure mailed to you, or if you'd like to donate items to our silent auction, please contact Josh Stroup, Golf Tournament Coordinator: (717) 545-1472 or jstroup31@verizon.net.

MLK Day of Service Highlights

On the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday, we hosted a day of service along with several of our partners in the Allison Hill Mentoring Partnership (AHMP). AHMP is a mentoring cooperative we formed this past year with five partner agencies. Our goal is to work collaboratively to increase the mentoring opportunities available to youth in Allison Hill through shared staff, programming and facility use.

On MLK Day AHMP hosted about 75 volunteers, including 20-25 youth, for a day painting one of our houses at BHA, painting the dance studio at Danzante Community Arts Center, creating an MLK mural at Danzante, removing trash from a nearby alley, and engaging in a shared learning experience based on Dr. King's principles over lunch in a session led by Rev. Gerald Rhoades of Brethren Community Ministries Agape-Satyagraha Program.

It was a great day of coming together in service with our AHMP partners, volunteers from Messiah College and Metro Bank, and other concerned community members. Thanks to everyone who took part! I hope you found the day as meaningful as I did!

We start with the end of the day...the finished mural created for Danzante Community Arts Center. Many volunteers helped to paint part of the mural.
