The bike event started in Palmyra, and featured routes of 25 miles, 50 miles and 100 kilometers (62 miles) through Lebanon, Lancaster and Dauphin Counties. This year 24 riders and two sponsors helped us raise $9,500 for our Transitions program for homeless women and children. Special thanks are due to volunteers from Palmyra Church of the Brethren (COB), Conewago COB, Mount Wilson COB, West Greentree COB, Elizabethtown COB and Spring Creek COB for hosting rest stops for the riders, as well as the other volunteers who assisted with rider support on the day of the ride. Thanks also to the bike tour planning committee:
Darrel Reinford, Chair
Linda Bell
Josh Benton
Michael Collins
Jeff Eckert
Heather Kelly
Here are some highlights:

From left: Joe Taylor, Jennifer Rash and Andy Rash were our top fundraising team, representing Harrisburg Brethren In Christ Church
Our first rest stop was manned by Pastor Jon Brenneman at Mount Wilson Church of the Brethren with his wife Sara and son Christopher, who supervised the activities
John Kelly rode 62 miles through beautiful farm country and small towns, and was our top individual fundraiser
 BHA Program Participant Kelleah held
her own Spring Thaw Bike Tour, toddler division
Gail D’Angelo, Jim Donovan, and Mark Pishock, representing Opportunity Sponsor M&T Bank, celebrate their successful ride along with BHA Director Steve Schwartz
With about 4 miles to go on her 62 mile ride, Vicki Landis (and four other riders) were hit by a flash thunderstorm. Steve Schwartz offered to pick Vicky and the others up in the support van, but they wanted to finish. Steve snapped this picture with his cell phone as he couldn't believe they powered through rain so blinding he could barely see out the windshield.
Soaking wet but successful, Vicky Landis (left) and Sherilyn Schock are glad to have finished
The three other riders caught in the storm (from left: Linda Bell, Barb Ricci and Kay Care) are also dripping with excitement to have made it back to Palmyra (See more Bike Tour pictures on BHA's Facebook page.)
