Mission

Providing a holistic program of secure housing, supportive services, and loving relationships, Brethren Housing Association helps homeless and low-income individuals and families achieve their God-given potential.

Core Values

Living our Christian Calling
We exist as a concrete expression of the Church’s calling to embody the love of Jesus Christ and to bring justice, peace, and wholeness to our world. We aim to restore hope to hurting individuals and families.

Practicing Holistic Ministry
We minister to the whole person by attending to physical and emotional needs as well as inviting individuals to spiritual growth. We affirm the dignity and uniqueness of each individual, and tailor our services to the unique circumstances of each individual or family.

Building on Strengths
We utilize a capacity-based approach that empowers participants to realize their own potential. We help participants determine and achieve meaningful goals, including housing stability, financial self-sufficiency, and healthy family dynamics. We seek to build on our organizational strengths by conducting our work with the highest standards of excellence and integrity.

Engaging in Meaningful Collaboration
We build communities of care for those we serve and with whom we work, and cultivate relationships among congregations, community leaders, foundations, government, educational institutions, human-service organizations, and businesses. We serve not only our participants but also raise awareness of and strive to address the realities underlying poverty and homelessness in our society.
