Administrative Staff

Steve Schwartz (sschwartz@bha-pa.org), Executive Director, provides administrative and supervisory oversight of all of BHA’s programs, including the transitional housing program, rapid rehousing programs, property management, collaborative partnerships, and community outreach. Steve has a B.A. in Organizational Management from Eastern University and 15 years of supervisory experience in faith-based non-profit settings. Steve and his wife Elizabeth and sons John-Luis and Carlos live in Harrisburg, a short distance from BHA, and are active members of Harrisburg Brethren In Christ Church.

Jenn Todaro (jtodaro@bha-pa.org) serves as our Administrative Assistant, and in doing so helps all of us do our jobs better, while making sure the bills are paid, donations are acknowleged, records are well kept and the general public is welcomed. Jenn and her newly wed husband Michael live just outside of the city, in Lower Paxton Township.

Program Staff

Jennifer Rash (jrash@bha-pa.org), Program Coordinator, helps our families work toward greater stability and self-sufficiency through intensive work on employment, education, individual and family goals. She also works to strengthen the resources and relationships of our program participants through our Bagwashi Circles initiative. Bagwashi (bah-GWAH-shee) is an African word meaning "those who help one another" and is closely related to the word for family. Jennifer’s job is to help nurture and grow the Bagwashi Circle, or support system, for each of the families in our program. Jennifer spent 15 years working with college students and is excited about working in the city that she has called home since 2000. She and her husband Andy and son Noah are very involved in the life of Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church.

Natashia Woods (nwoods@bha-pa.org), Program Coordinator, assists the families in our program to develop and achieve life changing goals surrounding employment, education, parenting, relationships, health, and housing all geared to strengthening the families stability and self-sufficiency. Natashia is nearing completion of a B.S. in Applied Behavioral Science from Penn State University and has 10 years of experience working in case management roles in the local human service community. Natashia and her children Kendrick and Jamai live in Steelton, and attend Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Tausha Bulgrien (nbulgrien@bha-pa.org), Childcare Coordinator, is the newest member of the BHA staff. Tausha is launching this new, part-time position, developing a curriculum-based childcare program for the times when the women in our program are meeting for their weekly support group session. Tausha also trains and coordinates our childcare volunteers. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education, and has significant experience working with children. Tausha, her husband Josh, and their three children Micaiah, Ezra and Eliyah live in Hummelstown and attend Harrisburg Brethren In Christ Church.

Property Staff

Dennis Saylor (dsaylor@bha-pa.org) is our Property Manager, overseeing the general maintenance of BHA’s current properties in use, as well as renovation of new properties being developed. His entire career has been spent in the construction and carpentry trades. Dennis, his wife Ann, and their children reside in Manheim, Pennsylvania and attend West Greentree Church of the Brethren.

All of our staff are committed to doing their job with passion and integrity, while treating each member of the BHA family with dignity, respect and Christian love.
